Creator account growth

OnlyFans creator accounts grew from 348,000 in 2019 to 4.63 million by FY2024 — a thirteen-fold expansion in five years. The steepest single-year growth was 2019→2020 (+360%, COVID-driven), but the platform has sustained double-digit YoY growth in every year since.

Creator economics — 80/20 split

OnlyFans uses a flat 80/20 creator-favorable split with no tiers. Every dollar a fan spends — subscriptions, pay-per-view, tips, DMs — sees 80 cents flow to the creator before any other deductions. There are no engagement-based throttles, no carve-outs for top creators, and no minimum thresholds before payouts start.

Real take-home is lower than 80% once payment processing (~3%), currency conversion (1–3% for non-USD fans), and tax obligations are accounted for. US-resident creators typically net 65–72% of the original fan payment; international creators with VAT obligations land closer to 55–62%.

Earnings distribution

OnlyFans's creator earnings distribution is one of the steepest power laws in the consumer internet. Splitting $5.80B in payouts across 4.63M creators gives an arithmetic mean of $1,253/year — but the median creator earns closer to $180/year, and the top 1% capture approximately 33% of all platform payouts.

Account moderation and removals

OnlyFans actively moderates the creator base. In February 2025 alone, 35,865 creator accounts were removed — a routine month-on-month volume that reflects active CSAM scanning, ID verification re-checks, terms-of-service violations, and inactive-account cleanup. The platform also filed 64 NCMEC CyberTipline reports for suspected CSAM in the same month.

Both numbers are an order of magnitude higher than what comparable adult creator platforms publish — partly because OnlyFans actively scans uploaded content with proactive reporting, partly because the platform's scale makes absolute volumes large even when relative rates are not.

Fan-to-creator ratio — supply/demand health

With 377.5M cumulative fan accounts and 4.63M creators, the platform-wide fan-to-creator ratio sits at 81.6:1. This ratio has held remarkably steady within a 74:1 to 87:1 band since 2021, even as both sides scaled by an order of magnitude. Stable ratio = supply-side and demand-side scaled together rather than oversaturating each other.
