Methodology TL;DR
- Primary source: Fenix International's UK Companies House filings (audited)
- Triangulation: Similarweb, Sensor Tower, Statista, NCMEC for panel and traffic data
- Date everything: every figure carries a year + source ID + last-modified date
- Distinguish reported vs estimated: estimated figures are explicitly labeled
- Corrections: versioned changelog at the bottom of this page; we don't backfill silently
Editorial principles
Five principles guide every figure on this site:
- Primary sources first. Where Fenix International publishes a figure (via Companies House), that filing is canonical. We don't second-guess audited financial data.
- Triangulate everything else. For figures Fenix doesn't disclose (demographics, country splits, traffic), we cross-check at least two independent panels — typically Similarweb plus Sensor Tower or Statista.
- Label estimates as estimates. If a figure is panel-derived rather than audited, we say so on the page where it appears.
- Cite per page, not per site. Each page has its own sources list with bracketed source IDs (e.g. [FENIX-2024]) that map to the master bibliography.
- Date everything. Every page has a "Last updated" stamp; every figure has a year (e.g. "FY2024" rather than "2024" where the platform's fiscal calendar matters).
Primary data — the Companies House filing
OnlyFans is operated by Fenix International Ltd, a UK-registered private company. Fenix is required to file annual accounts with UK Companies House, and those filings are externally audited by a registered accountancy firm. Companies House filings are public — anyone can verify our headline figures against the original PDF.
The most recent complete fiscal year as of this page's last update is FY2024 (covering the twelve months ending 30 November 2024), filed in late 2025. From that filing we draw the canonical figures for:
- Gross fan payments ($7.22B in FY2024)
- Creator payouts ($5.80B)
- Platform net revenue ($1.41B)
- Pre-tax profit ($684M)
- Creator account totals (4.63M)
- Fan account totals (377.5M cumulative)
These six figures are the foundation of every derived number on the site. Average creator income, fan-to-creator ratio, country-share calibrations, etc — all anchor to the audited denominators above.
Triangulation — what Fenix doesn't publish
Fenix International does not publish:
- Country-level traffic share or fan spend
- Audience demographics (age, gender)
- Mobile vs desktop split
- Per-creator earnings distribution
- Creator country distribution
- Active monthly user counts (only cumulative account totals)
For each of these, we draw on at least two independent third-party sources and report a figure only when they converge. Where they diverge meaningfully, we either pick the more methodologically defensible source or report a range.
| Figure type | Primary panel | Cross-check |
|---|---|---|
| Country traffic share | Similarweb | StatCounter |
| Country fan spend | Sensor Tower | Similarweb spend panel |
| Audience demographics | Similarweb audience panel | Statista |
| Device split | Similarweb | StatCounter |
| Earnings distribution | Third-party panel analyses | Creator self-reports |
| Compliance volumes | NCMEC CyberTipline | Ofcom transparency reports |
Estimates vs. reported figures
On every page, figures are tagged in one of three categories:
- Reported — directly published by Fenix or another primary source. Default for revenue, payouts, profit, account totals.
- Estimated — derived from panel data or modeled from reported figures. Always labeled "estimated" or "derived" inline. Default for country spend, demographics, creator distribution.
- Self-reported — disclosed by the creator themselves (interviews, social posts). Default for top-earner figures. Always labeled with source type in the source-cell of the table.
Update cadence
Different figure types update at different cadences:
- Annual fiscal data (revenue, payouts, profit, account totals) — updated once per year, ~4-8 weeks after Fenix's Companies House filing is published.
- Traffic and spend panels — reviewed monthly; we update when our triangulation sources show consistent shifts >5% versus the prior published figure.
- Demographics — reviewed quarterly; updated only when measurable shifts are confirmed across multiple panels.
- Top-earner list — updated when new creator self-reports surface (interviews, leaked rankings).
- Regulatory landscape (OSA, DSA, state laws) — updated as enforcement milestones occur.
